A great introduction to Paris

Since our flight arrangements gave us eight nights in Paris, but our flat was only available for six, we booked the other two nights at Hotel Varenne.  What a wonderful surprise.  The location, only two blocks from Invalidades, was a great starting point for our trip.  In fact, I wish we had more time there.  The hotel is immaculate - I don’t believe we have ever stayed in a hotel that was as clean and well maintained.  Yes, our room was tiny (we booked the smallest of the rooms as it was all that was available at the time), but the two twin beds were comfortable, it had a great bathroom with tub, and even a small refrigerator and a safe.  The staff was gracious and helpful with dining suggestions and arranging for a taxi at the end of our stay.  Their advice to purchase museum passes at the Musee Rodin (only 1 block away) saved us a great deal of time and money througout the rest of our time in Paris - it is valid for almost anything you would want to see and allows you to skip the ticket lines.  A beautiiful small hotel in a quiet area, yet convenient to all the attractions in the 7th Ar.
